When you are building a new 3D quiz, we recommend coming up with a plan first, just as you would for a traditional quiz.
First, think about the learning objectives you are trying to assess in your quiz. For example, are you asking learners to recall the function of an anatomical structure, or are you assessing them on their ability to choose the proper treatment for a given health condition?
Once you have outlined your learning objective(s) for each question, use the chart below to select a question type that will allow you to assess your learning objective(s) effectively.
Learning Objective | |||
Identify anatomical structures |
Example: Correctly identify the anatomical structures emphasized in the model from a list of options. |
Example: Remove X anatomical structure using the Hide tool and select Y structure. |
Example: Correctly label the following list of anatomical structures in the model. |
Identify the anatomical structures affected by a disease |
Example: Identify areas on the patient that are affected by X disease. |
||
Understand the relative positioning of or relationships between multiple anatomical structures |
Example: Identify all anatomical structures that are part of X structure, and select adjacent structures surrounding X structure to understand context. |
Example: Correctly label names or functions of related structures in the model. |
|
Recall the function(s) of anatomical structures |
Example: What is the function of the anatomical structure identified (i.e., painted or otherwise emphasized) in the model? |
Example: Select the anatomical structure that performs X function. |
|
Identify and describe physiological processes |
Example: Which physiological process is displayed in the model? |
||
Identify and describe diseases |
Example: What health condition is the patient experiencing in the model? |
||
Describe correct treatment methods |
Example: What is the best way to treat the health condition that the patient is experiencing in the model? |
