Register my VR headset with a team code

To make logging into the BioDigital Human VR app faster and easier, teams can now register VR headsets using a unique VR registration code

Once a headset is registered, it will automatically be recognized and granted access to your team’s VR experience—no email or password required!

 

Step 1 (Admins only): Generate a VR registration code on the web

If you are a team Administrator, follow the steps below to generate a one-time VR registration code for your team. (If you are not an Administrator, please ask one of your Administrators to do this for you.)

  1. Log in to the BioDigital Human web app on a computer.
  2. Click the    profile icon in the upper-right corner of the page.
  3. Select VR from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click Generate New Registration Code.

Once generated, your registration code will appear on the same page under Registration Code.

To help others register their headsets, take the following steps:

  1. Click Copy Registration Code to copy it to your clipboard.

  2. Share the copied code—and, optionally, a link to this article—with your teammates, instructing them to begin with Step 2 below.

To register your own headset, proceed to Step 2 below.

Note: The same registration code can be used to register as many headsets as your organization's plan allows. However, this code must be used within 14 days of its generation. After that, a new code will need to be generated.

 

Step 2: Register your headset in VR

After your headset is set up and the BioDigital Human VR app is installed (see Step 3 in Getting started with BioDigital VR), follow these steps to register the headset to your team:

  1. Open the App Library from your headset’s universal menu.
  2. Select BioDigital Human from your list of installed apps.
  3. In the Register this device window, use the on-screen keyboard to enter:
    • What do you want to name this device? 
      Enter a name to help your team identify this headset.
    • Code 
      Enter the team registration code generated in Step 1.
  4. Click Register this device.

Once registered, your headset will be linked to your team account, and you can return to the BioDigital Human app from your App Library at any time — no login required.

Note: If you perform a factory reset on any given headset, a team Administrator will need to generate a new registration code, and the device will need to be re-registered.

 

How to manage registered VR headsets

Team Administrators can view and manage registered headsets from the VR page in the web app.

On this page, click the    three dots next to any headset to:

  • View the device's registration number and registration date.
  • Edit the device name and description.
  • Remove the device from your team (this will require it to be re-registered).

Note: Your team's VR registration code is different from your team invite code.

  • The VR registration code described in this article grants headset access to the premium VR experience only. Even if the headset is used by a single individual, the code is not tied to a specific user or account.
  • A team invite code (or link), on the other hand, allows an individual to create a user account and join your team on the web, mobile, and VR apps.

If someone wants to collaborate with your team outside of the VR app—such as creating or sharing content on the web—they must register for a user account and join the team using an email invitation, invite code, or invite link. Learn more in Join an existing team.
