Coming soon: A better, faster, more flexible Studio

On July 9th, we are launching a redesigned and reimagined Human Studio—our powerful suite of authoring tools for creating customized, interactive 3D views of human anatomy, physiology, health conditions, and treatments.

Read on to see what’s changing and what you can look forward to.

A new interface built for ease of use

We have rebuilt the Studio interface from the ground up to make customizing interactive 3D content more intuitive, efficient, and aligned with what learners will ultimately see.

This upgrade brings several immediately visible improvements:

  • A redesigned Tool panel on the right centralizes core tools like Paint, Labels, and Canvas Size in one place. Each tool is clearly labeled and can be expanded or collapsed, making it easy to work with multiple tools at once.
  • A more modular design helps you stay focused and work more efficiently. Both the Chapter panel (left) and Tool panel (right) are now resizable and collapsible—just drag the edge to adjust or close, or click Toggle canvas in the top menu to hide both panels in one click for distraction-free editing.
  • A refreshed light theme and new Studio logo make it easier to recognize where you are and navigate with confidence.

A true “What You See Is What You Get” authoring experience

At the heart of this update is a streamlined layout for chapter management that mirrors the Human Viewer—so what you see while authoring is nearly identical to what your audience will see when once content is published.

  • The chapter list now matches the layout and design of the Viewer, helping you structure multi-chapter tours with more clarity and precision.
  • The information panel, which provides essential educational context for each chapter, is now fully integrated into the main Studio workspace. In the Content tab on the left, you can add and preview supporting text, images, videos, and more—exactly as they will appear in the final experience.
  • Quiz questions are now authored in the Quiz tab on the left—right where learners will see them—making it easier to visualize their flow and placement.

Together, these changes eliminate guesswork between authoring and publishing, giving you more control and confidence as you create high-impact, interactive 3D learning experiences.

More flexible authoring with drag-and-drop content blocks

Studio now supports content blocks—a modular, more intuitive way to structure and organize content across your 3D experiences.

In the Content tab, which powers the Information Panel in the Viewer, you can now add, remove, and reorder a variety of block types to create the layout that best supports your learning objectives.

Drop-down menu containing: Rich text, Image, Video, Audio, GIF, Positions, Legend, and Label List.

Your content is no longer restricted to fixed fields that appear in a rigid order. Content blocks give you complete control over the structure, flow, and formatting of the multimedia you pair with your 3D model. And with our new “what you see is what you get” design, your edits in the Content tab reflect exactly what learners will see in the final experience.

This same content block architecture is also available in labels (and will soon be available in quiz questions), where you can add text, images, videos, or GIFs.
