Integrate a 3D model into PowerPoint

Microsoft does not currently enable users to embed our 3D interactive models into PowerPoint. However, you can still incorporate our models into your PowerPoint presentations by hyperlinking 2D images to 3D interactive models.* 

Here's how: 

1. Publish your image and model from the BioDigital Human.

1. Publish your saved 3D model as a 2D image by following the steps in this article.
2. Publish your saved 3D model as a URL by following the steps in this article. Make sure you select Copy URL, not Copy Embed.

2. Insert your image and model into PowerPoint.

PC / Windows

1. Insert the 2D image of your model into your slide:
   1. Open the Insert tab and select Pictures > This Device. 
   2. In the dialog that appears, browse to find the 2D image of your model that you saved above, select it, and click Insert.
2. Insert a link to your 3D model's URL:
   

   1. Select the 2D image you inserted into your slide in step 1 above, or add a caption or button beneath the image and select that caption or image (or both).

   2. Open the Insert tab and select Hyperlink.

   3. Select Existing File or Web Page.

   4. Insert the following into the dialog that appears:

      • Address: Paste the 3D model URL you published in the BioDigital Human. (See step 2 under "In the BioDigital Human" above.)
      • ScreenTip: Type the text that you want to appear when the user hovers over the hyperlink (optional).
3. Select OK.

1. Insert the 2D image of your model into your presentation:
   1. Open the Insert tab and select Pictures > Picture from File.
   2. In the dialog that appears, browse to find the 2D image of your model that you saved above, select it, and click Insert.
2. Insert a link to your 3D model's URL:
   1. Select the 2D image you inserted into your slide in step 1 above, or add a caption or button beneath the image and select that caption or image (or both).
   2. Open the Insert tab and select Text.

   3. Select Hyperlink.

   4. In the Link to dialog that appears, paste the 3D model URL you published in the BioDigital Human. (See step 2 under "In the BioDigital Human" above.)

3. Select OK.

*Note: The resulting link will open in a browser, where a facilitator can demonstrate and interact with the 3D model, or a learner can interact with it directly. The 3D model will not load on the slide itself.
