When you select an anatomical structure in a 3D model, its name appears in the anatomy label. Many anatomy labels also include an info button that displays additional information about the selected structure.

Many anatomical structures in the BioDigital Human include descriptions written by BioDigital's anatomy specialists. However, not every structure currently has a BioDigital-written description. When a BioDigital-written description is unavailable, however, the platform displays a description from a secondary source. By default, this source is Wikipedia.
If you are a team administrator, you can change your team's secondary—or "fallback"—anatomy description source from Wikipedia to the NCI Thesaurus (NCIT), or switch back at any time.
To change your team's "anatomy description fallback" setting, take the following steps:
- Click the profile icon in the upper-right corner of the page.
- Select Team from the drop-down menu.
- Click the Manage button at the top of the page.
- Open the Settings tab.
-
Under Anatomy Description Fallback, select either
Wikipedia
or NCIT.
Your changes will apply to all members of your team and all content—both inside the application and in published content.
