Create and manage custom Paint palettes

Custom paint palettes enable you to bring visual consistency to all of the models you customize in Human Studio. Learn how to create and manage your own paint palettes below.

 

Create a new palette

To create a new paint palette, you must choose a paint first. Start by selecting a paint color you like or creating a custom one, and then take the steps below when you are ready to add it to a new palette:

  1. Expand the Paint menu on the right side of the page.
  2. Click the    plus button above the current color.
  3. Select New palette…
  4. In the Create New Palette dialog, give your palette a name (e.g.,"Skeletal System”).
  5. Click Done to save your palette.

 

Add paints to a palette

Once you have created a custom paint palette, you can continue adding more colors or effects to it as you go:

  1. Expand the Paint menu on the right side of the page.
  2. Click the    plus button above the current color.
  3. Select the palette you would like to add the color to.
  4. (Optional) In the Edit Palette dialog, give your selected color a name.
  5. Click Done to save your changes.
     

 

Remove paints from a palette

You can remove paints from your custom palette just as easily as you added them to it:

  1. Open your custom palette by selecting it from the drop-down menu under Palettes.
  2. Click the    three dots directly to the right of the Palettes section of the menu.
  3. Select Edit palette.
  4. In the Edit Palette dialog, click on the "X" next to each color you want to remove.
  5. Click Done to save your changes.

 

Delete a palette

To remove a custom paint palette in Studio, take the following steps:

Warning: This action cannot be undone. After you delete a custom paint palette, all of the colors it contained will no longer be available in this or any other model, unless you have previously downloaded or copied them.

  1. Click the    three dots in the top-right corner of the Palettes section of the Paint menu.
  2. Select Delete palette.
  3. In the Delete Palette dialog, click Delete.

 

Download a palette

Downloading a paint palette allows you to import it into another model so you are working with a consistent set of colors and effects:

  1. Click the    three dots in the top-right corner of the Palettes section of the Paint menu.
  2. Select Download Palette from the drop-down menu.

 

Copy a palette to your clipboard

Copying a paint palette to your clipboard is a quicker alternative to downloading it to your device:

  1. Click the    three dots in the top-right corner of the Palettes section of the Paint menu.
  2. Select Copy palette to clipboard from the drop-down menu.
  3. Paste your copied palette into a note or somewhere that will be easily accessible to you later. (See import a palette into another model below.)
     

 

Import a palette into another model

Once you have downloaded a paint palette or copied it to your clipboard, you can easily import it into any other model you are working on:

  1. Take the steps in "download a custom palette" above.
  2. Click the    three dots in the top-right corner of the Palettes section of the Paint menu.
  3. Select Import Palette.
  4. In the Import Palette dialog, choose one of the following options:
    1. Upload File: Click to browse for the palette file you previously downloaded, select it, and click Open.
    2. Paste Text: Paste the palette data you previously copied to your clipboard.
  5. Click Import.
