When you add quiz questions to a 3D model in Human Studio, the model and the quiz become interconnected—that is, your model now has a quiz associated with it, and your quiz is part of your model.
However, models and their associated quizzes are not entirely inseparable. By using a combination of View Modes and publishing settings, you can create three different types of experiences for your learners in your published quizzes:
- Publish a hybrid self-study/practice quiz experience
- Publish practice quizzes
- Publish quizzes for graded or ungraded assessments
1. Publish a hybrid self-study/practice quiz experience
If you would like to use the same 3D model or tour to both 1) teach specific concepts to learners and 2) enable them to self-test their retention of those concepts, use the settings listed below to publish a hybrid self-study/practice quiz experience.
- View Mode in Studio: View & Quiz
- Assessment Mode in Publish: Disabled
When your View Mode is set to View & Quiz and Assessment Mode is disabled (unchecked) in the Publish window, learners will experience your published quiz as follows:
- When the published link or iframe loads, the learner enters in View mode.
- The learner can launch Quiz mode at any time by clicking on the menu
and selecting Take Quiz at any time during the tour.
- At the end of the quiz, the learner can return to View mode by clicking Back to View.
- At the end of the quiz, the learner can take the quiz again by clicking Take Again.
2. Publish practice quizzes
If you would like to use a 3D model or tour to enable learners to self-test their retention of concepts learned in other learning materials, use the settings listed below to publish a hybrid self-study/practice quiz experience.
- View Mode in Studio: Quiz only
- Assessment Mode in Publish: Disabled
When your View Mode is set to Quiz only and Assessment Mode is disabled (unchecked) in the Publish window, learners will experience your published quiz as follows:
- When the published link or iframe loads, the learner enters in Quiz mode.
- The learner cannot access View mode. A Back to View button does not appear at the end of the quiz.
- The learner can retake the quiz as many times as desired. A Take Again button appears at the end of the quiz.
3. Publish quizzes for graded or ungraded assessments
If you would like to use a 3D model or tour to assess learners' retention of concepts learned in other learning materials, use the settings listed below to publish a quiz for graded or ungraded assessments.
- View Mode in Studio: View & Quiz or Quiz only
- Assessment Mode in Publish: Enabled
When the View Mode is set to View & Quiz or Quiz Only and Assessment Mode is enabled (checked) in the Publish window, the published experience will exhibit to the following characteristics:
- When the published link or iframe loads, the learner enters in Quiz mode.
- The learner cannot access View mode. A Back to View button does not appear at the end of the quiz.
- The learner cannot retake the quiz. A Take Again button does not appear at the end of the quiz.
With Assessment Mode, you also have the option to publish individual quiz questions as a standalone experience. Check the box next to Assessment Mode, select Single question, and select the question number you would like to publish. To publish additional quiz questions as individual experiences, repeat these steps for each quiz question you want to publish, selecting a different question number each time.
- Summary page (even if this option is enabled in your quiz settings)
- The Next Question button after the learner submits an answer
- Quiz progress indicator (only "Question 1" will appear)
- The Take Again button at the end of the quiz
- The Back to View button at the end of the quiz
