How to find my computer's operating system and browser versions

BioDigital's Customer Experience team may ask you to provide information about your computer's operating system and/or browser when helping you troubleshoot a technical issue. This information can provide our team with insight into what might be causing the issue, and it can help us reproduce the issue, which is an important first step in resolving it.

Follow the steps below to find the operating system and browser versions you are using. 

 

What operating system version is my computer running?

PC (Windows)

Mac (OS X)

    1. In the top menu of your computer, click the apple icon.
    2. Select About This Mac from the drop-down menu.

The name and version number of the operating system will be displayed in the pop-up window that appears on your screen.

 

What browser version am I using?

PC (Windows)

      1. Open Chrome.
      2. In the upper-right corner of the Chrome window, click the three dots icon.
      3. Select Help from the drop-down menu.
      4. Select About Google Chrome from the next drop-down menu.

    The browser version will be displayed at the top of the new page that opens in Chrome.

      1. Open Firefox.
      2. In the top menu of your computer, select About Firefox from the drop-down menu.

    The browser version will be displayed at the top of the pop-up window that appears on your screen.

      1. Open Microsoft Edge.
      2. In the upper-right corner of the Edge window, click the three dots icon.
      3. Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
      4. Scroll down and About Microsoft Edge.

    The browser version will be displayed at the top of the new page that opens in Edge.

Mac (OS X)

      1. Open Chrome.
      2. In the upper-right corner of the Chrome window, click the three dots icon.
      3. Select Help from the drop-down menu.
      4. Select About Google Chrome from the next drop-down menu.

    The browser version will be displayed at the top of the new page that opens in Chrome.

      1. Open Firefox.
      2. In the top menu of your computer, select About Firefox from the drop-down menu.

    The browser version will be displayed at the top of the pop-up window that appears on your screen.

      1. Open Safari.
      2. In the top menu of your computer, click Safari.
      3. Select About Safari from the drop-down menu.

    The browser version will be displayed in the pop-up window that appears on your screen.
