About labels
Labels in the BioDigital Human let you add interactive callouts to your 3D model. They are a simple way to provide learners with additional context while keeping attention on the visuals.
Use labels to:
- Identify key anatomical structures
- Connect anatomy to its functions
- Explain the relationship between anatomy and health conditions
Add a label
To add a new interactive label to a model, take the following steps:
- In the toolbar, select the Label icon.
- Click the structure in the model you want to label. A label will appear with the structure’s name as the label title and a plus/minus pin at the placement point.
- To change the title, add details, or adjust the style, see Edit a label.
Edit a label
To edit a label, take the following steps:
- Select the label you want to edit by clicking the label on the 3D model, or opening the Labels panel on the right and selecting it from the list.
- Use the Content, Style, and Interactions tabs to customize your label.
- When finished, save your changes.
Label customization options
The customization options available for each label in Human Studio are separated into three tabs: Content, Style, and Interactions. See below more information each the functionality available in each.
- Update what appears in the label.
- Title: Default is the name of the structure.
- Description: Optional text under the title. Can be set to show or hide on load.
- Blocks: Add text, images, videos, or GIFs to support your label.
- Adjust the look and feel of the label.
- Label type: Choose Leader Line or Floating, and position the tag.
- Pin style: Use Plus/Minus, Circle, or Sequential (A, B, C or 1, 2, 3).
- Theme: Switch between Light and Dark.
- Glow: Add a flickering glow to encourage clicks.

Control how labels appear on load and behave on click.
On Load
- Show pin only – hide the label tag until clicked.
- Collapse description – hide the description in a dropdown.
On Click
- Expand label or Expand description.
- Zoom label – zoom to the structure or to a fixed position.
To set a fixed zoom position:
- In the drop-down, select Zoom to fixed position.
- Reposition the model using your mouse, keyboard, or 3D controls.
- Click Mark Position.
Remove a label
You can delete labels individually or all at once.

To remove a single label, follow these steps:
- Find the label in the from the Labels panel.
- Click the drag handle and select Delete.

To remove all labels, follow these steps:
- Open the Labels panel.
- Click the three dots and select Remove this chapter’s labels.
- (Optional) Repeat for other chapters in your tour.
