As of May 1, 2026, we have made three major updates to the BioDigital Human platform:
- Our paid Personal Plus plan and all equivalent premium plans for individual subscribers are being retired.
- Our free Personal plan has been updated to include our core Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) content only to provide a foundational environment for individual learners.
- Instant “self-service” free trials for School and Business plans have been discontinued and replaced by a guided trial experience to better support organizations during their platform evaluation.
These updates will allow us to better support our users at scale and focus our efforts where they matter most, while continuing to offer a free option for individual users.
Below you will find a breakdown of what has changed and what these updates mean for you.
1. Retirement of the Personal Plus plan
If you are actively subscribed to Personal Plus (or any legacy individual premium plan), your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing term. At that time, your subscription will not auto-renew, and your account will transition in two steps:
Step 1: The 30-day grace period
Immediately after your subscription expires, your account will enter a 30-day grace period. This is a temporary window to help you manage your content and decide what to keep when you move to the free Personal plan.
During this time, you will be able to:
- Open and review all models in My Library with no viewing limit.
- Delete models you no longer need to stay within the free plan limit (5 saved models).
- Upgrade to a School or Business plan to retain all of your saved models and continue accessing our premium content and features.
However, you will not be able to:
- Access non-Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) models, unless they are already saved in your My Library
- Save new models if your library already contains 5 or more models
Tip: Use this period to decide which 5 models you want to keep, or upgrade if you need continued access to your full library.
Step 2: Transition to the free Personal plan
After the 30-day grace period ends, your account will move to our free Personal plan, which includes:
- Access to Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) content only
- 10 views per month
- Up to 5 saved models in My Library
- Continued access to Human Studio, our web and mobile apps, and self-service support

Warning: After the grace period, if My Library contains more than 5 models, our system will automatically retain your 5 most recently updated models and permanently remove the rest.
2. The new Anatomy & Physiology-focused Personal plan
If you are on our free Personal plan, your account automatically updated to our core Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) library as of May 1st. With this update:
- You have full access to all of the Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) content currently available on the Explore page.
- Non-A&P models (including health conditions, procedures, and treatments) are still visible in Explore, but they are no longer accessible—you cannot view, customize, or save them.
- You continue to have access to non-A&P models already saved in My Library.
Warning: If you delete a non-A&P model from My Library after May 1st, you will not be able to restore or re-save them under the new Personal plan.

3. New guided process for School and Business trials
To better support organizations during their evaluation of BioDigital, we have moved from "self-service" trials to a guided trial experience. As of May 1st:
- It is no longer possible to sign up for a free trial of our School or Business plans in the app. However, you can still explore these plans before you buy. To explore our full specialty library, collaborative tools, and premium features:
- Visit our Pricing page or Contact Sales page and submit a message to our team.
- A member of our team will reach out to discuss your organization's specific needs.
- We will help set up a tailored free trial to ensure you have access to the right tools and content.
- If you are in the middle of a self-service trial, it will remain active until its original expiration date. After that, you will have the option to transition to the Personal plan, upgrade to a School or Business plan, or connect with our Sales team to request a trial extension.

How do you define Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) content for Personal users?
Our A&P library is currently comprised of 578 interactive 3D models, tours, and quizzes for learning about the human body systems and functions, including all of our “Anatomy” categories:
- Anatomy by Region
- Anatomy by System
- Complete Anatomy
- Bony Landmarks, Origins, and Insertions
- Cross Sections and Microanatomy
- Anatomy Quizzes
To view a comprehensive list of all A&P content:
- Go to the Explore page.
- Select All Models under Category.
- Click the Anatomy and Physiology tab at the top of the page.
Models under "Conditions" and "Procedures and Treatments" are now considered specialty content and require a School or Business plan.
What happens to deleted models? Can I recover models later?
If you are a Personal Plus user, any models that you or our system deletes from your account will be permanently deleted after the the 30-day grace period concludes. Therefore, we strongly recommend manually managing My Library during your grace period to ensure your 5 most important models are the ones you keep.
What will happen to my saved models if I start a free trial or upgrade to a School or Business plan during the grace period? Will I still lose them?
If you start a guided free trial or upgrade to a School or Business plan during your grace period, your 5-model limit will be waived immediately, and you will retain all of your saved models in My Library.
If you are interested in a School or Business plan and want to preserve your saved content, we strongly recommend connecting with our Sales team as soon as possible.
What do I get with the new Personal plan? How is this different from the old Personal plan?
With our updated Personal plan, you get access to all of the following:
- Our core Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) library, which includes 500+ interactive (and often animated) 3D models, tours, and quizzes visualized at the gross, tissue, cellular, and molecular levels, with up to 10 views per month.
- Universal access on any device via our flagship apps for web, iOS, and Android.
- Human Studio, our powerful suite of authoring tools to build and customize your own models, tours, and quizzes.
- Your own private My Library, where you can save and organize up to 5 models (original or customized).
- Self-service learning resources, including getting-started guides, video tutorials, and troubleshooting articles on our Help Center.
The only difference between the new Personal plan and its previous version is that it now offers access to our core Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) library only. See the table below.
